Flygt's history begins in 1901 as a machine factory. The first submersible pump was produced in 1947 and at the time, it was one of the first manufacturers to dare to use an underwater motor. Partly due to innovation and takeover by ITT in 1968, Flygt became a global player in the field of (submersible) pumps.

Later in 2012, ITT would split into, among others, Xylem Water Solutions, which also includes the brands Lowara and the former Vogel pumps. This is where Flygt is still part of.

Applications
Wastewater is the number one application Flygt pumps are used for, which is why these pumps are often found in pumping stations. To produce one of the better wastewater pumps, Xylem is constantly concerned with new developments within the market, electronics and the ever-increasing demands.

Many of the SAER pumps can be made in various materials, such as cast iron, stainless steel and bronze. It is also possible to get a pump with stainless steel pump housing and bronze impeller. In addition to these materials, you can also obtain various types of pumps in (super) Duplex. This type of steel has an unprecedented high quality and strength.
