Een wormpomp bestaat uit een cilindrische behuizing en een wormschroef die binnenin draait. De wormschroef is gevormd als een spiraalvormige schroef, die de vloeistof langs de schroefdraad van de schroef verplaatst, terwijl deze in de behuizing roteert. Hierdoor wordt de vloeistof continu verplaatst van de inlaat naar de uitlaat van de pomp.

Onderdelen en revisie
De belangrijkste delen van een wormpomp zijn de stator en rotor. De stator is meestal geproduceerd van rubber of kunststof. Afhankelijk van de toepassing kan het juiste materiaal geselecteerd worden. Mocht u hier advies in willen kan u altijd contact met ons opnemen.
Het revisieteam van IPG bestaat uit diverse door Seepex opgeleide monteurs, die u kunnen ondersteunen bij de revisie van uw wormpomp.
Deelbare stator
Een pomp reviseren kan soms nog aardig wat tijd in beslag nemen. Wormpompen zijn vrij makkelijk in het onderhoud door de geringe componenten.
De stator en rotor zijn vaak (als eerst) aan vervanging toe. Om deze onderdelen zo eenvoudig mogelijk te kunnen vervangen heeft Seepex de ‘deelbare stator’ op de markt gebracht. Deze stator kan gemakkelijk gedemonteerd worden waardoor de rotor en stator makkelijk te vervangen zijn. Zonder dat de pomp uitgebouwd hoeft te worden en dus gewoon in het leidingwerk kan blijven.
Selectie van een wormpomp
Net als bij andere typepompen is het ook voor een wormpomp van belang dat deze juist gebruikt wordt en voldoet aan de specificaties die de toepassing vereist. Hier voor zijn enkele vragen van belang welke beantwoord dienen te worden voor er een definitieve pomp geselecteerd kan worden. Een greep uit deze vragen zijn:
- Welk medium wordt er verpompt? Slurry, vaste delen? Zo ja, grootte van de vaste delen.
- Wat is de benodigde capaciteit van uw applicatie: hoeveel m3/uur of liter/sec moeten er verpompt worden?
- Wat is de opvoerhoogte ook wel druk genoemd: dit is de maximale hoogte in meters welke de pomp moet kunnen verpompen.
- Dient de pomp gedoseerd te pompen?
